Classes
Our Littles classes are for both girls and boys ages 3-6.
We strive to have a safe, delightful learning environment for our youngest dancers. They have so much fun, that they don’t even realize they are honing their fine and gross motor skills, cross coordination, rhythm, and muscle memory!
Our Littles classes include the following:
Devotions & Prayer
We are not just a dance program in a “Christian environment.” Discipleship through Dance is our heart and motto! For our Littles classes, we have an age appropriate “Story Time” where they learn simple truths about life with Jesus!
Skill Development
We have over 30 years of experience teaching children. Our Littles curriculum is imaginative and playful, yet structured. It is designed to create a strong base for the skills they will need as they continue to grow as a dancer.
Choreography
A small portion of class will be spent learning a dance they will perform at the end of the session. During our fall session, they will learn a Christmas themed piece for our annual production “His Name Shall Be Called…” Our spring session performances have a fresh theme each year. The style of dance they perform varies from session to session.
Free Dance
Free dancing with scarves is a highlight for them. We love encouraging our students to personally express their love for Jesus.
Lyrical dance is what it sounds like: a style of dance with an emphasis on movements that interpret the lyrics of a song.
Lyrical dances are expressive and dramatic. Often, lyrical dances will tell a story to enhance the message of song. For example, you might be shepherdesses; animals; circus performers; train conductors; wear costuming from a specific era, etc.
Lyrical has a strong ballet base, which is why we require girls taking these classes to also take a ballet technique class with us.
Our lyrical classes include the following:
Devotions & Prayer
We are not just a dance program in a “Christian environment.” Discipleship through Dance is our heart and motto! An important part of every lyrical class is studying the theme for the session through devotionals and practical application. We want to help our students grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Choreography
The bulk of each class will be spent learning the dance they will perform at the end of the session. During our fall session, they will learn a Christmas themed piece for our annual production “His Name Shall Be Called…” Our spring session performances have a fresh theme each year.
Free Dance
We love encouraging our students to personally express their love for the Savior.
Our lyrical classes are for girls only.
Our ballet classes are for ages 6 & up, and offer technical training at barre, center, and across the floor. We highly recommend this foundational training which builds strength and improves coordination, while increasing body awareness.
*Please note: our ballet technique classes are meant to be supplemental. (You are welcome to only take a ballet class with us! However, please be aware that these classes are non-performing, don’t have a devotional, etc.)
Songs chosen for our praise classes are upbeat, fun, and energetic. This is a great class for kids who love to exert energy and show enthusiasm! They do sharp movements, strong poses, and spunky jumps. Choreography may include elements of hip-hop or jazz or theatrical dancing.
These classes are mixed – both boys and girls are welcome and wanted!
Our Praise! classes include the following:

In order to keep costs low, be eco-friendly, and have age-appropriate performance wear that is still flattering and beautiful, we do our costuming differently than most dance schools. Rather than have you purchase an expensive costume(s) for one time use, we keep and re-use all of our costuming! We charge a very low costume fee ($35 per dance) for each performance (Christmas and spring). There are a few basics, undergarments, and hair supplies listed below that you will need to purchase in addition to that small fee. Those supplies and our costume fee are ALL you will pay for your student(s) participation in the performance that session, as we do NOT charge a separate recital fee!
Girls Basics:
- a Flesh-Toned Camisole Leotard
-to be worn under their costume as a base layer, for modesty in the girl’s dressing rooms, and extra coverage and support. - Tights that Match Skin Color
-for Caucasian girls, this will be a light pink - The Footwear that is required for their class (see our Dress Code)
- Bun Making Supplies: hair elastics, hair gel and/or spray, bobby pins and hair net, depending on performance piece hairstyle
- If they wear a Bra, it must be flesh colored and NOT a razor back
Boys Basics:
- Black Jazz Shoes
We have one scheduled day per session that parents can come and observe classes. Watching class at other times is not permitted. Students learn and grow best in an environment where there are no distractions in the classroom.
We ask that you not overbook your child. Dance is an art form, but it’s also a team sport! When a student misses class due their involvement in other extra-curricular activities, it is hard on their “teammates”. We want every child to have the benefits of full participation!!
If your child needs to miss class for any reason, please let us know ASAP so teachers know how to plan. To excuse an absence, either call the CMA line (303-470-5856) or email us (cma@magnifythelord.org).
If your child has any of the following symptoms within 24 hours of class, we ask that you keep them home.
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Rash
- Fever
- Wet cough
- Obviously contagious conditions, such as pink eye, head lice, etc
In the event that classes need to be canceled, you will be notified via email, 2 hours before your child’s class time. It will also be posted on social media and our phone message. You will NOT receive a call. Make sure we have your email for notifications and information.
In the event that you need to drop out of classes, we will pro-rate + charge you a $10.00 administration fee. The pro-rated amount is based on the number of classes that occurred prior to you informing us of your need to drop. Even if you were not present at those classes, you will still be charged.
